About the Grant

The Thai Fogarty ITREOH Center (Grant Number: 1 D43 TW007849 Fogarty International Center - National Institutes of Health) will provide training and research opportunities in a partnership between Chulalongkorn University in Thailand and Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) in the United States. Other collaborating institutions include the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP), the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services (NJDHSS), Wake Forest University School of Medicine, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), the US Geological Survey (USGS) and the Thai-US Fulbright Foundation. Workshop Series Set for March 24-25 and 27-28

The Thai Fogarty ITREOH Center will be hosting a series of workshops on Environmental Risk Communication, these will be held at the National Center of Excellence for Hazardous Waste Management Program on March 24 and 25 and again on March 27 and 28. Presenters include Dr. Mark Robson, Project PI from NJAES Rutgers, Dr. Caron Chess from NJAES Rutgers, Dr. Daniel Wartenberg from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School UMDNJ, and Dr. Wattasit Siriwong from Chulalongkorn. Dr. Surasak Taneepanichskul is New MFC for Thai Fogarty Project

The new Dean of the Chulalongkorn College of Public Health Sciences, Dr. Surasak Taneepanichskul is now the Major Foreign Collaborator (MFC) and Co-PI for the Thai ITREOH Project. Dean Taneepanichskul is also the Director of the Public Health Institute at Chulalongkorn. He took his M.D. from the Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University in 1981 and his Diploma in clinical science (OB & GYN) Chulalongkorn University in 1985, he also received a Master of Medicine (Public Health) National University of Singapore in 1992.
